Discover Marrakech means take time to get lost in small streets and in the souks.
But do not miss its monuments which talked about its history.
And do not forget to enjoy the famous moroccan hammam or to discuss with the marrakchis.
The Ben Youssef Medersa
Built during the 12th century and rebuilt in the
19th, in this coranic school, you will admire the richness of the
moroccan craft industry (zellige, stuccos and sculpted wood).
Few meters from there, you also can visit the museum of Marrakech, a
beautiful and rich house also decorated with stuccos, marquettery and
zellige.
Its colourful souks and the lively Jemaa El Fna square
But what would be Marrakech without its famous souks ? Nobody can imagine the old city without those so many
shops full of handcraft or without the colour full spices...
Between babouches, carpets, tissus, leather clothes...
you do not really know where to look.
You just have to walk and get lost in these narrow
streets to find the treasury you dream about.
Do not be afraid to get lost... it is the way to
discover special places and the secrets of this Medina. You will
probably have the chance to see some very small workshops and their
craftmen still working as their ancestors.
And do not miss the famous Jemaa El Fna square.
That is the place to feel the city with its unfixed restaurants, snake
charmers, storytellers and pullers of tooth...
